River Plate – Velez Sarsfield

Looking over some of my posts from the past week, it would appear that there is nothing at all positive to write about la banda roja. Clearly I would prefer to be posting pictures and video of the celebrations in front of El Obelisco in Buenos Aires over our 33rd league title, or even our 3rd Copa Libertadores. Of course, that won’t happen this season, but I promise this won’t all be doom and gloom over the summer. Just remember, “en las buenas y en las malas.” That means in good times and in bad, our love for River will never go away. However, on to business…
River will (finally) end their 2007 campaign on Friday night against Velez Sarsfield of Liniers. Due to River’s second stadium ban this season, they will be meeting el fortin at San Lorenzo’s stadium, el Nuevo Gasometro.
