River Plate To Face Toronto F.C. Tonight in Carlsberg Cup

By: Christian | July 22nd, 2009

Los Millonarios will play the first of three pre-season friendlies in Canada this evening when they take on Toronto F.C. in the Carlsberg Cup, 7:30PM ET/4:30PM PT. Tickets are still available.

River have been training in Canada since last weekend ahead of tonight’s match against the MLS side. Despite the presence of starters Diego Buonanotte, Ariel Ortega, and Marcelo Gallardo, expect Nestor Gorosito to field a B-squad of younger and less experienced players.

It doesn’t appear that the game will be shown live in the States, however the TFC website will be streaming the game on their live video portal, Toronto FC TV. I do not know if there is a charge for viewing the game.

If anyone is lucky enough to be at the game, please leave your thoughts in the comments section below.
