What are your thoughts on the Villareal package deal they are trying to set up? Ten million euros for half the rights of six River Plate players (still undisclosed as to which players).

I think it's a bit crazy personally and Aguilar is selling off what he can to line his pockets. Ridiculous.

Agreed Tim. Ojeda was fantastic before Carrizo came back and muscled him out of the starting spot.

And I'm so tired of the Ortega relapses. I think he needs a proper rehab but my bet is he believes that could end his career. Might be best for everyone involved but he's arguably the most influential player on our squad as we struggled to have possession without him.

Jesus Christ, I drive across the country for a few days and this is what I miss!

Personally, I try to stay off the rumor mill unless things are practically confirmed. I heard enough of the D'allesandro-Aimar-Crespo-Ayala rumors last time that I take everything with a grain of salt. Personally I'm more concerned with the number of starters from last week's game that will be around for the Apertura, and particuraly, Ortega's relapse, YET AGAIN.

Abelairas to Lazio was another one but that seems to have died down a bit.

Zarate is also linked with Boca but his Qatari club have said that they would want a bigger transfer fee than they shelled out, which was £10 million so I highly doubt that he'll return to Argentina. West Ham and Liverpool are rumoured to be interested in an £18 million deal, so that to me definitely rules out a return to Argentina.

Abreu can go.

I'm with you regards promoting youngsters, Lizio is one that comes to mind as well as Sciorilli I think his name is. We're also due Rene Lima back from Israel which could be good, I'd prefer him and Domingo fighting for the midfield role if Ponzio leaves.

The biggest one for me is Beto and Diaz in with the fat man and Simeone going out. I've never been a fan of Aguilar, and I'd love to see the club accounts to see what he spends in expences. I shudder to think what his food bill must be! Simeone just doesn't do it for me at all, I'm just not a fan of his football. He should go back to Racing.

Oh, and why are we in the market for a keeper? Is it just me that thought Ojeda was perfectly capable or what?

I've heard various rumors.

The fat man has said that Buonanotte is not for sale. (Woo Hoo!)

Abreu has a few offers he's fielding (Fine with me, bye choker!)

Falcao is staying on (Fan-fucking-tastic news!)

Augusto is being courted by Lazio and Atletico Madrid but the operation has stalled since he's waiting on his European citizenship to become an EU player (Bummer, but under Simeone his role has been dramatically reduced.)

Carrizo is gone. He'll be playing club ball for Lazio. (I think we all knew this.)

Mariano Barbosa is said to have his transfer in his own possession and is looking for a club. (I thought he was a good keeper at Banfield but failed to impress at Villareal and subsequently at Recreativo.)

They are looking to steal Santiago Salcedo from Newell's. (He's fantastic but why not put more stock into Falcao who's proven himself for River? And, how else can we piss Newell's fans and club directors off?)

Mauro Zaraté's name also came up. (His loan expired at Birmingham where he played and adapted really well, he has said he is not interested in playing in Qatar again.)

Unfortunately, Ernesto Farias' name has also been kicked around. (I would be happy never seeing him in a River shirt ever again, I consider him to be worse than Abreu.)

Word is Simeone has asked for a young player currently playing in Europe. The names being considered, Sergio Almiron (who has already showed a strong interest in staying in Europe since he is being transferred from Juventus), José Sosa (formerly of Estudiantes but currently with Bayern and gets very little playing time) and Sebastian Leto (with Liverpool, gets even less playing time than Sosa). Not sure I'm ok with bringing in more big name players, I would actually like it better if Simeone promoted more young players from our youth ranks. Bringing in non-River related players has shown to be tough. Cristian Villagra has just this season begun to show the player he was at Rosario Central.

Ponzio is said to be considering a move to Almeria. (Unfortunate because he can help out on offense but he's failed to really become a regular in the starting line up. Also his shot from outside the area was a hot commodity that has since disappeared from his repertoire. Nico Domingo could get more time but doubtful since Simeone wants a player with more vision in that position, hence the interest in Almiron.)

Sticking with the theme of bringing in players who've had their taste of River, Juan Pablo Sorin has been rumored to be on the short list as well as the never ending rumor of Roberto Ayala coming back to River as well. (I don't like the idea of bringing in all these older players but at the end of the day, Boca has done this and had great results with it in recent years, after all, Simeone's tried everything this season and nothing's really worked out well)

That's what I know. Anyone else have any transfer rumors? Also, this is as of now. The fat man could change his mind and transfer everyone, including Simeone.
