Felicidades!!

With 2007 winding down, I want to take a brief moment to thank everyone who has stopped by and read or left comments here at The River Plate Offsides. I’ve had a blast writing this blog, and while it was not always a joy given River’s results during the past season, this blog wouldn’t have been possible without the support of you the reader, so thank you. I have plenty of stories and features in the works, so I hope you’ll continue to check back often for all things millo, and hopefully, with a new year and new coach, we can soon once again shout RIVER CAMPEON!
In the meantime, here’s a present for all you millonarios out there, from a story in today’s Diaro Olé. It appears a photo shoot was setup near the famous (and appropriately phallic) Buenos Aires monument the Obelisco, with two models wearing nothing but the colors of River and Boca painted directly onto their skin. Why? Well, in the 15 or so times I’ve watched I have yet to find a reason, but so long as it’s hot in Argentina and there’s no football, I guess this will have to tide us over. Olé indeed…
