Back in Action

It would be just my luck that on the weekend I have to be out of town for a wedding, a date chosen 2 years ago by the way, I miss River Plate simply demolish Vélez Sarsfield 5-0 and put themselves firmly in the middle of a title challenge. Oh well. With the win, River are now in the driver’s seat and clearly in control of their own destiny. Unfortunately, I was unable to watch the game, but our good friend Gonzalo has the recap here, and hightlights are now online.

So today River find themselves again looking at a must win game, this time against Arsenal, a team which has shown some strong displays of fútbol in recent years, but so far find themselves in 13th place. You can catch the match on TYC Sports USA at 2PM ET. A win will give River 13 points, and depending on the outcome of Boca – Olimpo later today, in 2nd place.

EDIT: River are up 0-1 at the half, and playing extremely well.

Lineup:
Ojeda
Ferrari Sánchez Tuzzio Villagra
Fernández Ahumada Belluschi Peralta
Ríos Rubén
